The Refreshments performed in the early years of his career mainly covers of rock and roll songs. The band was called until 1991 the King-Cats. They released their first album in 1995 Both Rock'n'Roll followed by Trouble Boys 1997, both produced by Billy Bremner who also served as a permanent member of the band for a few years.

The bass player and singer Joakim Arnell writes the main part of the songs. Since pianist and vocalist Johan Blohm joined the group also includes some country songs in the repertoire. Some of the band's biggest hits are Miss You Miss Belinda and One Dance, One Rose, One Kiss. In 2003 released the blockbuster Christmas album Rock'n'Roll X-Mas. The Refreshments have also worked with Dave Edmunds, which has resulted in the live album A Pile of Rock. The band participated in Melodifestivalen 2014 with the song Hallelujah, and came in fifth place in the second race in Linköping. (google)
