“Jason Tyler Burton is a gifted multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter from the blue-grass state of Kentucky. Thoughtful, acoustic, with lots of string instruments and solid lyrics. A wonderful ride.” - Bill Mallonee (Vigilantes of Love)

Jason Tyler Burton is a nomad, an adventurer, and singer songwriter originally from Kentucky but currently living in Southern Utah. He grew up across the Kentucky river from Daniel Boone’s original fort where his household listened to gospel, bluegrass, and appalachian folk tunes. While classically trained on the violin, he eventually picked up the guitar his senior year in high school and started writing songs. A lover of words and stories, he quickly gravitated to wordsmiths such as John Prine, Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen, and Bruce Springsteen as inspiration.

His musical resume is extensive. As a multi instrumentalist, he has been a part of bands such as the Union City All Stars and Tie Hacks. He has also shared the stage with Bill Mallonee (One of Paste Magazines top 100 living songwriters) and fellow Kentucky native Ben Sollee. A born story-teller, he engages audiences, is comfortable on stage, and enjoys sharing his intimate songs with any audience.

In 2007, armed with a minivan and a desire to live a more adventuresome and deliberate life, he and his wife headed west to work seasonal jobs for the National Park Service, ski resorts, camps, and nonprofits. Having lived such a nomadic life, with years spent sleeping in the back of a van, his songs reflect the journey and a search for a place to call home. Taking inspiration from his travels and the people he has met along the way, his story telling is honest, poetic, and layered. His voice and lyrics invite you to lean in a little, and really listen.
