ORFILA are an acoustic folk/pop trio consisting of siblings Abi, Louise and Matt Orfila from Folkestone in Kent. They are all accomplished musicians and songwriters in their own right.

The band was formed in 2012 and has played all over the South East of England. They have regularly appeared in local news papers and have been featured on BBC Radio Kent.

They first performed together as a band in mid 2012 when they supported BBC Radio 2 playlist singer/songwriter Ben Montague. Originally intended to be a one off show their set of originals and covers was warmly received and even earned an encore. Later in the year they supported UK rock band Dodgy, Canadian folk artist Andrew James O’Brien and Irish folk musician Sharon Shannon as well as performing at various charity events and open mic nights across Kent.

2013 has seen them support some major artists such as Beverly Craven and the legendary Albert Hammond. They headlined the Imperial Sounds re-launch show and earned positive reviews and played two Kent festivals in the summer; the Brightlights Festival in Maidstone and the Quiet Riot Festival in Ashford. They recently played at a show in London for the Jimmy Mizen Foundation, a charity set up to help young people.

ORFILA’s music ranges from popular covers written by groups such as Mumford and Sons, The Beatles, and Albert Hammond, to their own unique original compositions. They have their own distinctive sound with superb three part harmonies with a Folk/pop feel.

They have all played with some major artists including The Wanted, Alexandra Burke, Eliza Doolittle, Stacy Solomon, Chas Hodges (from Chas and Dave), Ben Montague, Alvin Stardust, Dodgy, Jon Allen, Sharon Shannon, Beverley Craven and Albert Hammond.

In April 2013 Seasick Steve’s tour manager saw the band support Albert Hammond and was so impressed that he invited the trio to record their debut album at his midlands based Studio. The ‘Highbury Studios’ is famous for producing hit albums from artists such as Duran Duran, UB40, Fine Young Cannibals, Steven Tin Tin Duffy, Everything But The Girl and Kodaline to name but a few.

Their popularity is increasing and with a ‘soon to be released’ debut Album, the group has a busy year planned for 2014.
