Magos & Limón are a msucial duo combining renowned Mexican singer Magos Herrera and Spanish guitar player, composer and producer Javier Limón. Magos has worked with the cream of international jazz musicians, combining her Latin roots with the sounds of today’s improved jazz music. Javier is known for his work with Paco de Lucia, Buika, Bebo and Chucho Valdes, Avishai Cohen and many others. The new release represents an encounter between the profound, sophisticated voice of Magos Herrera and the intricate Flamenco guitar of Javier Limón.

Be it in English, Spanish or Portuguese, the self-control of Magos' interpretation and the power of her words and voice combined with Limón's refined simplicity and harmony, in addition to the careful rendering of this project make DAWN a cutting-edge, revolutionary approach to Flamenco-jazz.

Herrera’s smoky, emotional vocals envelop the sobering, intense spirit of Limón’s flamenco guitar to produce a melodic sophistication that is altogether haunting. Paying homage to masters like Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Caetano Veloso, Rosa Passos and Bill Evans who have permeated our musical world, these skilled musicians present seminal pieces and contemporary arrangement in a manner altogether unique.

“Spellbinding... Herrera’s passionate performance thrived on manipulating her technique and choosing exactly the right moments to let loose... the singer continued her expressive vocalization while fluidly moving her body, like a sitting flamenco dancer stuck in slow motion.” Time Out, New York
