Spirit Level are Chris Louvieris & Chris Kyriacou who have collaborated to produce their debut album called Kolossi Blues.

Chris Louvieris is a musician, singer, song-writer born in London but now living in Cyprus. His musical “Road to Damascus” moment came early on in his life when he first heard Peter Green and Eric Clapton play live in a pub in North London with “John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers”. He gave up studying classical guitar and traded it in for a cheap Electric Guitar. No matter where his musical tastes would wander, he would always come back to The Blues, his first love. He formed a few bands and played at venues such as, The 100 Club and The Roundhouse, but after a horrific car accident was told he would never be able to use his left hand let alone play guitar again. In his 30’s he moved to Cyprus, where after a chance meeting with Mike Minas, a guy who had seen him play at his school dance and ran his own recording studio in Limassol, persuaded him to start up writing and recording original stuff again, more mellow and blues & country influenced. Slowly, by purchasing new guitars with narrow necks he was back playing, writing and recording from his own home studio in Kolossi. “Kolossi Blues” is Chris’ second album, the first being a chillout album in collaboration with a pianist friend Mike Charidemou under the name of “Lost White Brother” for which he first bought and played his beloved acoustic resonator “Angelina”.
He’s had a bit of bad luck in his life. He opened up a beach music club in 1986 in Limassol which was destroyed by a freak “Perfect Storm”. In 2002 his house in England burnt down to the ground, a tenant had placed 17 appliances on one plug. In 2006, a Cyprus military plane crashed into his house destroying it along with 100’s of unfinished songs on his computer. After three years fighting for compensation he refurbished his studio. In 2010 he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and after 2 years of chemo was cleared. He now feels that although he wasn’t born in the cotton fields in the USA, he has earned the right to play, write, and sing the blues.
Chris’ musical influences include, Peter Green, Freddie king, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, and Jerry Douglas.

Chris Kyriacou has been playing guitar and composing for over 25 years with a diverse history within the Music Industry. He was born in Greenwich London in 1962; his Father & elder brother were both musicians who had instilled a healthy instinct for music in him in addition to a variety of musical tastes from a very early age. Chris says that “there was never a room in the house without a guitar in it”, and wanting to expand on his compositional skills Chris studied harmony and composition on piano, and classical guitar for several years. In the 80s he broke out as a session guitarist in London, with studio & live performances at several Edinburgh festivals & European performances for XL Recordings.
In 1994-1997 Chris was employed by Amphonic Music LTD as a composer, writing jingles to specific subject briefs for radio and television. During this period Chris also formed a nine piece RnB band called Emergency Exit, touring the London scene and playing his own compositions. In 1997 he joined Abstract Entertainment as a Director, and composer of music for the games industry, specifically working on a game called Joe Blow, on PlayStation and PC formats. Unfortunately, after two years and 45 original compositions later, Telstar the publishers of the near completed game, were sold off and the project was shelved. Chris returned to session playing and gigging with various bands going back to what he had a passion for, Blues, Rock & Acoustic music. During this time Chris also wrote a track called “Baxter’s Brew” for his close friend and world renowned rock guitar virtuoso Shaun Baxter, which is on his first album “Jazz Metal”.
Throughout all this musical diversity Chris has always had an underlying love for playing and listening to Blues, Rock, and Celtic music. In 2002 Chris and his family moved to Cyprus, where he set up his own recording studio, as well as gigging on the local circuit, and teaching guitar in private music schools. Although throughout the years Chris has written an extensive amount of original songs & instrumental’s, “Kolossi Blues” is his first album that he feels represents his love of Blues, Rock, and Country music.
