David Bavas is a singer-songwriter originally from the foothills of the Appalachians, now living in East Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania and spent much of his life at family gatherings in Pittsburgh, or fishing anywhere he could find water and fish.

Bavas latest release, Lions and Lambs is due out March 17th 2015. Bavas writes about the struggles and traps we set up in our lives, and what it means to find some kind of peace in this world. He also writes love songs using whisky and tomatoes as the vehicle for romance.

Lions and Lambs is his fourth record and was Produced by Kevin Suggs, whose past credits include the Shins, Cat Power, and The Minus Five.

Past Album Reviews:

Seattle Weekly
“Acoustic Americana that’s at its best when the mandolin and pedal steel have kicked in. Bavas’ songs are solid..” DAVE LAKE

Salt Lake City Weekly
“Bavas comes off as an everyman; if every man could win us over with a strange timbre that makes the hard-of-hearing struggle to pick up.” (Jamie Gadette)

Twangville
“His style is unique, although his Appalachian upbringing definitely influences his music. However, his sound owes as much to Indie Rock as it does Roots Music.” (Chip “Crackersoul” Frazier)

Boise Weekly
“All the songs on the CD have a timeless quality. They could just as easily have been sung by Woody Guthrie, Jimmy Rogers, Hank Williams Sr. or Johnny Cash.” (Curt Nichols)
