Jack J Hutchinson is a British blues guitarist. Described by Blues In Britain as “everything that is so good about modern blues music”, in 2015 he was nominated for a British Blues Award for Emerging Artist.

His band consists of Rick Baxendale on bass, Jim Brazendale on drums and Tom Brundage on harmonica. They released their debut EP Get It Back in 2014 to universal acclaim.

Hutchinson was born in 1982 in Leicester, spending his formative years in the north west before moving to London in 2005. He has been gigging and recording for the best part of 18 years, sharing the stage with some of the best known blues musicians around today including supporting Ian Siegal, Big Boy Bloater, Zoe Schwarz and Ron Sayer, whilst also doing high profile session work at Universal and Miloco Studios London. He is also regularly part of the house band at London’s famous Ain’t Nothin’ But blues bar.

His single If You Let Me Love You – a cover of the BB King classic – was named in British Blues Award judge Dave Watkins’ top 5 singles of 2013, whilst his last solo album Feathers and Fools was released to critical acclaim.

Hutchinson’s EP Get It Back was released in autumn 2014 with a launch gig at London’s famous 100 Club. The record reached number 16 in the UK iTunes Blues Chart.

It also reached number 25 in the IBBA blues top 40, receiving critical acclaim from publications including Blues In Britain and Blues Matters magazine. The title track was also featured on a Blues Magazine compilation album also including Kenny Wayne Shepherd and John Mayall. He is also featured on Krossborder Rekords Best Of British Blues Vol. 2.
