Alright you pop pickers at long last the Black Weeds record is finally here amongst us and Stevie Klasson isn't about to disappoint. Opening proceedings with a rollocking rock and rolla, 'Gimme More' is wonderful stuff with some finger lickin' guitar pickin' and all-girl backing vocals adding to Stevie's cool drawl - this is rock and roll, boys and girls and you knew it was going to be good, but how good?

It's with a huge grin on my face that the former Johnny Thunders right hand man is delivering the goods with his Black Weeds and if he's offering a lift then I'd be a fool to refuse to take a ride in the 'Hoodoo Cadillac'. With some of the finest lead guitar playing you'll hear in a while and anywhere Mr. Klasson is on fire!!

Being a record with a twist it comes as an accompaniment to the rather good 'Rock N' Roll Tales From A Crooked Highway' book which is Stevie doing exactly what it says on the tin - regaling us with stories 'round the campfire of his rock and roll exploits.

'Good Stuff' is part borrowed from our forefathers in The Faces - it's that kinda vibe and happy go lucky is the feeling and, at the death the change of pace makes you stop whatever you're doing to just join in. It ain't nothing but a good time.

'Cool To Be Kind' is cool as and whilst more a straight ahead rocker it has an eastern guitar break that oozes class, but not as much class as when Stevie brings out the acoustic guitars for the heartbreaker, 'Riding High'. With its late night smokey room quality it's perfectly arranged with the guitar effects and organ - there is no detail left to chance. 'Gypsy Lullaby' kinda follows on with the laid back mood coming across like the bastard child of Janis Joplin and Big Brother Holding Company, it's captivating and mesmerizing.
